  • Take half a cup of coconut or neem oil. Add 1 teaspoon of camphor. Store it in glass container. Massage your scalp with this oil before bed or one hour before taking bath.

  • Mix two parts of coconut oil with one part of lemon juice. Massage into the roots of the hair regularly.

  • Massage the scalp gently with coconut or almond oil daily for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Boil neem leaves in water. Cool, strain and rinse hair with it.
  • Increase intake of green leafy vegetables, fruits, salads, milk, and sprouts in the diet. Take more proteins, yeast, wheat germ, milk, buttermilk, soya beans, whole grains and nuts.

Helpful Home Remedies for Premature Graying of Hair

  • Cut and dry the Indian Gooseberry or amla fruit. Once dried, boil the fruit in oil of coconut until the mixture resembles burnt dust. The oil that is left behind will be dark, which is used for the hair. Apply this dark oil directly to the scalp and massage and then rinse with water.
  • Use natural henna to dye your hair.
  • You can make an effective mixture using henna. Make a paste of 2-Tsp. henna powder, 1 tbsp. coffee, 1-tsp. curd, 1-tsp. fenugreek seed powder, 2-tbsp. mint juice and 2-tbsp. basil juice. Apply this paste to the hair and let it remain there for two hours. For a darker color, leave this paste in for 3 to 4 hours. Wash hair with any natural shampoo.

  • Massage your hair with neem oil. You can also use other natural oils like Lavender, Eucalyptus which can produce a significant soothing effect when dabbed locally on affected areas. You can also add these oils to water (4 parts water to 1 part oil) and sprayed directly onto the scalp and/or added to your shampoo and conditioners also.
  • Crush half a cup of juniper berries into 2 cups of boiled water. Allow to cool and apply to areas of irritated skin to relieve inflammation and throbbing. Apply to your scalp, leave for 10 mins and rinse off.
